In and around Valdaora/Olang, a spectacular, varied natural landscape opens up. Take a leisurely hike to the Angerer Alm or Lanzwiesen Alm dairy huts. Treat yourself to typical dishes. Marvel at the fantastic panoramic views. Take the kids to see the Plan de Corones-Kronplatz Indian village. For culture lovers, the Messner Mountain Museum Corones and Lumen Museum offer a combination of physical and mental activity.

Summer

The striking peaks of the Dolomites are a destination every mountain lover dreams of. Easy through to challenging trails lead up to the Kings of the Alps: Piz da Peres, Dreifingerspitze or Drei Zinnen/Tre Cime di Lavaredo, all very close. From the top, the world seems to lie at your feet. Professional mountain guides are available to accompany those who do not want to do the ascent on their own.

Summer

Want an adrenaline kick? Rapid descents along six trails await freeriders at Plan de Corones-Kronplatz. You can also cycle at a more leisurely pace along the slight ascents and descents to the Alpine meadows or along the Puster Valley cycle path that runs through the valley to Lienz in Austria. Bikes and equipment are available locally from bike service points.

Immerse yourself in refreshing water. Water babes splash around in the children’s pool, while older swimmers can swim their lengths in the pool. The heated outdoor swimming pool in Valdaora beckons, promising a relaxing summer’s day and an idyllic bathing location, surrounded by meadows, forests and mountain peaks.

White mountain peaks, clear deep blue skies and glistening fields of snow. The Puster Valley winter landscape seems almost unreal. The Plan de Corones-Kronplatz and Dolomiti Superski ski areas offer endless skiing opportunities. Or get close to nature away from the slopes and let your dream in white become reality.

Get up, have breakfast and go skiing. The Chalet is located right on the Plan de Corones-Kronplatz ski slopes so you can conveniently ski-in and ski-out. You can reach South Tyrol’s number one ski area without any detours or taking the car. Around 120 kilometres of skiing fun await leisure skiers, beginners and carving experts in the highly varied ski area. From gently sloping runs right through to the steep Black Five, everyone will find their favourite descent here! And to top it all, enjoy the fabulous panorama, plenty of sunshine and magical mountain huts. Plan de Corones-Kronplatz is also part of the Dolomiti Superski carousel: “circum-skiing” South Tyrol’s Dolomites along the legendary Sella Ronda ski route is a must!

Winter

Over 1,000 km of magnificent trails run through pristine valleys. The Dolomiti Nordic Ski area, Europe’s largest cross-country skiing network, knows no boundaries. Ski along the Panorama Trail from Valdaora/Olang. Also close by is the cross-country ski centre and biathlon stadium in Anterselva/Antholz, where the sport’s elite meet up and will compete at the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Trudge through a shimmering sea of white, breathe in the fresh winter air. Stop off at one of the Alpine huts. Hot tea and traditional South Tyrol specialities give new energy and sheer delight. Snowshoeing hikes through snow-clad forests bring you closer to winter.

Feel free once again and hurtle down on the mountainside on two runners. Lean into the bends, cheering loudly. Families slide down the natural toboggan run from the Brunst-Alm to Valdaora/Olang into the valley like world champions. What about you? A toboggan ride under the full moon and star-studded sky is not to be missed.
